Stratford wrestlers come back to beat Pittsville

STRATFORD – Derek Dehlinger won by major decision and Kellen Bornbach and Dondrick Tackes won by pin to help the Stratford wrestling team come from behind to beat Pittsville 46-26 in a Marawood Conference dual meet Tuesday night at Stratford High School.

Pittsville led 20-19 after eight matches before the Tigers rallied to win five of the final six matches to earn the win.

Dehlinger beat Nathan Potter 20-8 to earn a major decision at 160 pounds before Bornbach and Tackes had first-period pins.

John Goode of Pittsville won the final match wrestled at 195 and Stratford won the final two matches by forfeit.

Stratford is off until the Marawood Conference Tournament on Jan. 28 at Chequamegon High School in Park Falls.
