Marshfield girls hockey wins fourth in a row, routs Tomahawk

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield girls hockey team won its fourth straight game, knocking off Tomahawk 8-1 in a Great Northern Conference matchup Thursday at the Marshfield Youth Ice and Recreation Center.

The Tigers, who are 6-0-1 in their last seven games, improve to 10-5-1 and 7-2-1 in the GNC. Tomahawk drops to 6-12 and 4-6 in conference.

Paige Johnson scored a pair of goals in the first period and added another in the third, and Nicole Karl also netted a hat trick with three goals for the Tigers. Each also had an assist in the victory.

Katie Krier and Nell Eichten scored the other two goals for Marshfield.

Emily Wolfe assisted on three of the Tigers’ goals.

The Tigers wrap up their regular season schedule with three games next week – at Lakeland ON Monday, at home against Medford on Feb. 10 and at home against Eau Claire on Feb. 11.
