STRATFORD – Edgar led by eight points after three quarters and Stratford made a strong run but came up just short in its comeback attempt, falling 45-41 in a Marawood Conference South Division girls basketball game Friday night at Stratford High School.
Edgar led 21-17 at halftime and 34-26 after three quarters before the Tigers made a run, outscoring the Wildcats 15-11, but coming up four points shy of tying it.
Brooke Schultze and Sara Griesbach each scored 14 points for Stratford (10-7, 5-6 Marawood South).
Jena Heidmann and Tessa Thurs each scored 12 points for Edgar (11-6, 5-6 Marawood South).
The Wildcats held a 14-4 advantage from the free-throw line.
