Marshfield JV boys basketball team edges Wausau East

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield JV boys basketball team edged Wausau East 33-28 in a low-scoring affair Tuesday night at Marshfield High School.

Craig Serchen had 10 points to lead the Tigers. Although he was just 1 of 7 from the field, Serchen sank 7 of 10 free throw attempts, all in the fourth quarter. He also added six rebounds.

Jeff Allison added seven points and nine rebounds and Alex Strege had seven points and six rebounds for Marshfield (12-8).

Marshfield was down 19-9 midway through the second quarter but clamped down and held the Lumberjacks to just nine points the rest of the way. The Tigers made 10 of 16 free throws overall in the fourth.

The Tigers host Rhinelander next Tuesday.
