GREENWOOD – The Spencer girls basketball team wrapped up its Cloverbelt Conference East Division schedule with a 40-32 win over Greenwood on Friday night at Greenwood High School.
Krystal Weier scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds, Tara Matter had 10 points and five rebounds and Courtney Schulz scored nine points had hauled down six rebounds for the Rockets, who end the conference season in third place with an 11-5 record and improve to 15-6 overall.
Greenwood falls to 10-10 and 7-9 in the Cloverbelt East.
Spencer started strong, leading 7-2 after one quarter. The game was fairly even the rest of the way as the Rockets maintained their lead.
Spencer will host either Chippewa Falls McDonell or Fall Creek in a Cloverbelt crossover third-place game on Thursday.
The WIAA playoffs will begin March 6 with brackets to be announced on Sunday.
