STRATFORD – The Stratford girls basketball team rolled to a win in its regular-season finale on Thursday, scoring at will in a 67-17 victory over Rib Lake in the sixth-place game of the Marawood Conference South-North crossovers at Stratford High School.
Stratford (12-10) made 26 of 44 shots from the field and held a 33-16 rebounding advantage as it cruised to the victory and guaranteed itself a winning season.
Hannah Schmitt scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds, Sara Griesbach added 19 points on 8 of 10 shooting, and Brooke Schultze chipped in 10 points, six rebounds and six steals for the Tigers.
Stratford led 21-6 after the first quarter and 44-12 by halftime.
Rib Lake (1-19) made just 7 of 39 shots and the Tigers had 17 steals in the win.
The Tigers open the postseason with a WIAA Division 4 regional quarterfinal at home against Tri-County on Tuesday.
