Weier, Schulz each score 20 points as Spencer girls basketball rolls to WIAA Division 4 regional quarterfinal win over Cadott

SPENCER – Krystal Weier and Courtney Schulz each scored 20 points to lead the Spencer girls basketball team to a resounding 62-38 win over Cadott in a WIAA Division 4 regional quarterfinal on Tuesday night at Spencer High School.

Weier made 8 of 14 shots from the field and added six steals, and Schulz hauled down 16 rebounds and dished out four assists in the Rockets’ win. Spencer owned a 35-20 rebounding advantage.

Spencer led 20-8 after the first quarter and closed the game with a 17-2 advantage in the fourth quarter.

The Rockets (17-6) play at Colby (14-8) on Friday in a Division 4 regional semifinal. Colby defeated Spencer both times the teams met in Cloverbelt Conference play this season – 46-32 at Colby on Jan. 5 and 42-34 at Spencer on Feb. 16.
