EAU CLAIRE – The Stratford girls finished second and the boys took fourth on Friday at the Tomahawk Indoor Track Invitational held at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Tomahawk won the girls team title with 143 points, with Stratford second with 80 points.
Black River Falls won a tight race for the boys title with 100 points. Tomahawk was second with 97, Medford took third with 91 and Stratford was a close fourth with 89 points.
Both Stratford teams won the 800 relay, and Dylan Kell and Jake Griffith each won events for the Tigers.
Kell won the 200 in 24.95 seconds and Griffith took first in the pole vault with a vault of 13 feet. Eli Temanson was second in the 55 (6.84) and Jacob Zuelke took second in the 1,600 (4:56.03).
Temanson also grabbed a pair of third-place finishes in the pole vault (12-6) and long jump (20-2.25). Phil Sersch was third in the 200 (25.72).
The Stratford girls got second-place finishes from Josie Kohlbeck in the 55 meters (8.19 seconds), Abby Bender in the 200 (28.78), Andrea Wenzel in the 3,200 (15:08.35) and the 1,600 relay team.
Bender took third in the high jump (4-10) and Tori Dietel was third in the triple jump (27-2). Danielle Leffel finished third in the 1,600 (6:17.57) and fourth in the 800 (2:46.80).
