MARSHFIELD – Eleven members of the Marshfield Youth Wrestling Team will be competing at the Wisconsin Wrestling Federation 2011-12 Youth State Tournament on Friday and Saturday at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison.
The wrestlers qualified for the state meet by placing in the top two at one of eight regionals.
Garrett Willuweit, Joey Carolifi, Gabe Pugh, Shane Westerhausen, Brock Bennington, Caden Pierce, Anthony Kanable, Kyle Krizan, Josh Lang, Preston Wagner and Dakota Ledebuhr will compete at state for Marshfield.
Last weekend, Marshfield youth wrestler Samuel Mitchell placed second at the USA Folkstyle Tour of America national tournament at the Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells.
More than 1,000 wrestlers from 25 stats competed and the top six in each division placed and earned recoginition.
