AUBURNDALE – Marshfield’s Jeremy Robinson and Auburndale’s Danica Harrison each won three individual events to lead their respective teams at the Wood County Track Meet on Tuesday at Auburndale High School.
No team scores were kept.
Robinson and Harrison continued their strong early-season efforts with dominating performances.
Robinson won the boys triple jump (45 feet, 1 inch), the 200 meters (22.63 seconds) and the 100 (11.23). He also took second in the long jump (21-1.5), finishing behind teammate Keiron Howlett who won with a leap of 21-11. Howlett was second to Robinson in the triple jump (42-2.25).
Harrison won the 3,200 (12:25.89), the 800 (2:30.76) and the 1,600 (5:33.27) to sweep the three longest girls’ races.
Martha Kupfer of Marshfield won a pair of individual events and was part of a winning relay team. Kupfer took first in the triple jump (34-7.5) and the 200 (27.38). Kupfer teamed with Bisola Omoba, Ashley Sternitzky and Nikki Youngblood to win the 800 relay in 1:51.55.
Other boys winners included Jacob Bauer in the high jump (6-0) and Brad Krueger in the pole vault (12-6) for Marshfield. Marshfield also won three relays. Jeff Allison, Olin Boson, Riley Gebelein and Howlett won the 800 relay in 1:33.50 and Allison, Boson and Gelelein joined Bauer to win the 400 relay in 44.43 seconds.
Matt DeGrand, Bauer, Derek Coffren and Ryan Trierwieler won the 1,600 relay for the Tigers in 3:44.22.
Auburndale’s top performance came from Isaac Castellano, who was second in the high jump (4-8).
On the girls side, Yasmeena Ougayour won the discus (101-0), edging Marshfield teammate Chelsea Akin (92-11).
Ougayour also took second in the shot put (33-5.5), finishing just behind teammate Melissa May (34-11.5).
Kate Schumitsch won the pole vault (9-1) and Omoba took first in the 100 (13.34) as well for the Tigers.
Auburndale got another win from Lakisha Sutton in the long jump (16-7) as she beat Elizabeth Manlick of Marshfield Columbus Catholic by 6½ inches.
The Dons earned a pair of victories. The 400 relay team of Mariah Heiman, Rachel Roehl, Hannah Stratman and Kayla Selz won in 53.14 seconds, nearly two seconds better than second-place Marshfield.
Diana Holzberger earned a win in the 100 hurdles for the Dons in 18.17 seconds, 0.11 seconds ahead of Nikki Weis of Marshfield.
