AUBURNDALE – Wausau Newman Catholic swept both the boys and girls team titles Thursday at the Auburndale Track Invitational at Auburndale High School.
The Marshfield Columbus Catholic girls took second and the boys were third, with the Stratford boys taking second and girls finishing fourth.
Host Auburndale saw its girls team take third and boys finish seventh.
The Stratford boys won six events. Dylan Kell took first in the 100 meters (11.97 seconds), Jacob Zuelke won the 1,600 (4:53.19), Jake Griffith won the pole vault (13-0) and Eli Temanson prevailed in the 200 (23.23). The Tigers also won the 400 and 800 relays.
Columbus and Auburndale each one boys win. The Dons’ 3,200 relay team while Auburndale’s Isaac Castellano won the 800 (2:08.98). Castellano also was runner-up in the high jump (5-8).
Spencer’s top boys finish came from Josh Olson in the triple jump where he finished second with a leap of 40 feet, 5 inches. Danny Schuebert took third in the 300 hurdles (46.45) and fourth in the 110 hurdles (18.91).
Auburndale senior Danica Harrison won the 1,600 and 3,200 runs again. She won the 1,600 with a time of 5:35.21 and the 3,200 in 11:47.12.
Emma Steines also posted a win for the Apaches, taking first in the triple jump (33-4.5).
Spencer freshman Rachel Zastrow won the 100 hurdles (17.72) and pole vault (9-9), and took second in the 300 hurdles (52.65).
Stratford won two events – Abby Bender in the high jump (5-0) and Tracy Arnes in the discus (82-8). Arnes was second in the shot put (27-9.5).
The Columbus girls had four wins. The 400 and 800 relays took first, along with Elizabeth Manlick in the long jump (16-3.25) and Brittany Hoffmann in the shot put (28-11).
