MERRILL – The Marshfield girls track team failed to win an event and ended up finishing a distant second behind Edgar at the Otto Bacher Track Invitational on Friday at Merrill High School.
Edgar won nine events and took the girls team title with 200 points. Marshfield was second with 95, four points ahead of Tomahawk.
Marathon won the boys team title. The Marshfield boys did not participate in the meet.
Placing second for Marshfield were Bisola Omoba in the 100 meters (13.20 seconds), Susan Omoba in the high jump (5-0), Melissa May in the shot put (35-7.25) and Yasmeena Ougayour in the discus (106-6).
Bisola Omoba took third in the long jump (15-5.25) and Kate Schumitsch was third in the pole vault (9-0) for the Tigers. The 3,200 relay team of Amanda Cousins, Ashley Holubets, Melissa Brix and Madie Koehn also took third for Marshfield (10:58.47).
