Columbus Catholic softball loses at home to first-place Neillsville

MARSHFIELD – Neillsville scored three runs in each of the first two innings, then added seven more in the third to beat Marshfield Columbus Catholic 14-3 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division softball game Monday at the Marshfield Fairgrounds.

Neillsville remains unbeaten in the conference at 10-0 (14-1 overall), while the Dons are still winless at 0-9 overall and in the Cloverbelt East.

Ashley Friemoth allowed five hits to earn the win for Neillsville.

Tori Schlagenhaft and Trina Hill each went 2-for-3 for the Dons, who play a doubleheader at Augusta on Tuesday.
