SPENCER – Heidi Guenther tossed a five-inning no-hitter and Dani Johnson went 3-for-4 and scored three times to lead the Spencer softball team to a 16-0 rout of Colby in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Monday at SPREC Field.
Guenther struck out five and allowed just one base runner with a walk.
The Rockets scored five times in the bottom of the first inning and added a 10-run third to cruise to the victory.
Spencer improves to 11-4 overall and 7-3 in the Cloverbelt East. In all 11 victories this season, the Rockets have scored in double digits.
Courtney Schulz added a hit and three RBIs, and Marisa Johnson, Paige Johnson, Sam Nikolay and Krystal Weier each had two RBIs for the Rockets.
Spencer hosts Owen-Withee in a conference doubleheader Tuesday beginning at 4 p.m.
