Marshfield boys golf finishes second at Merrill Bluejay Invitational

MERRILL – Antigo topped Marshfield by five shots as the Tigers finished second at the Merrill Bluejay Golf Invitational on Saturday at Merrill Country Club.

The Tigers shot a 335, five shots behind Antigo. Tomahawk was a distant third, 11 shots in back of Marshfield.

Craig Serchen shot a 79 for Marshfield to finish third and Kyle Hoffman was fifth with an 82.

Also competing for Marshfield were Ian Pillai (8) and Evan Schneider (88).

Serchen and Hoffman won the two-man best ball competition with a 73.

Mike Shinners and Nick Bulen of Antigo tied for medalist honors with 77s.

Marshfield wraps up the Wisconsin Valley Conference Tournament next week with meets at Wausau East on Tuesday and D.C. Everest on Friday.
