WAUSAU – Michael Josephson shot an 80 to tie for sixth place and led a group of three Marshfield golfers in the top 15 as the Tigers placed second at the sixth leg of the Wisconsin Valley Conference Bosy Golf Tournament on Tuesday at Trapp River Golf Course.
Josh Berres tied for ninth with an 82, Craig Serchen tied for 12th with an 84, Brandon Brown had an 87 and Kyle Hoffman shot a 93 for Marshfield, which shot a 333 and edged D.C. Everest by two shots for second place. Stevens Point won its sixth straight meet with a 313.
Marshfield scored six points to keep its spot in third in the conference tournament standings with 29 points, four behind second-place D.C. Everest and three ahead of Wisconsin Rapids. Stevens Point wrapped up the conference title with the win Tuesday.
Ryan Hofmeister of Stevens Point earned medalist honors with a 75 and took a nine-point leader over Matt Sandquist of Wausau West for the individual conference championship.
Serchen is 13th, Josephson is 14th, Berres is 15th, and Hoffman and Brown are tied for 17th for Marshfield in the individual standings.
The final leg of the tournament will be held Friday at Greenwood Hills Country Club in Wausau.
