WAUSAU – Marshfield’s Jeremy Robinson dominated his competition at the Wisconsin Valley Conference Track Meet, winning four events to lead the Tigers to a third-place finish on Tuesday at Wausau East High School.
Robinson won the 100 (11.02 seconds), 200 (22.31) and 400 meters (50.82), and set a new conference record in the triple jump (45 feet. 6 1/4 inches) for the Tigers.
Keiron Howlett took first in the long jump (21-5.75) and Jacob Bauer won the high jump (6 feet, 2 inches) for Marshfield. Howlett also finished second in the 110-meter high hurdles (14.91).
“The boys that were supposed to win performed well for us today,” Marshfield boys coach Denny Goettl said. “We had a number of other guys have personal bests. We had a great meet.”
The Marshfield girls finished fourth with a pair of titles.
The relay team of Bisola Omoba, Martha Kupfer, Miranda Snortheim and Nikki Youngblood won both the 400 (52.21) and 800 (1:49.76) relays for the Tigers.
Marshfield’s Kate Schumitsch set a school record in the pole vault with a jump of 9-6 and tied for second.
“Our girls ran well today in the relays and Miranda Snortheim really helped us today,” Marshfield girls coach Dan Akin said. “Martha Kupfer had a big day for us and placed in both of her open events as well.”
