COLBY – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys and girls track teams finished second behind Neillsville at the Eastern Cloverbelt Conference Track Meet on Tuesday at Colby High School.
The Dons boys fell just two points shy of champion Neillsville, while the girls were 15 points behind. Spencer was fifth in both the boys and girls team standings.
Rachel Zastrow of Spencer won a pair of events. She won the 100-meter hurdles in 17.55 seconds and the pole vault (9 feet). She also took second in the 300 hurdles (51.35).
Columbus Catholic had two girls win conference titles. Mariah Heiman took first in the 100 (13.06 seconds) and Elizabeth Manlick won the long jump with a leap of 15 feet, 5 inches. Columbus also won the 400 and 800 relays.
The Columbus Catholic boys won the 1,600 and 3,200 relays and also got a win from Malcolm Pittsley in the high jump (5-5).
Dan Schubert won a pair of events for the Spencer boys. He won the 110 hurdles in 18.49 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 45.64 seconds. He also took third in the jump jump (5-3).
Spencer also won the 800 relay and Josh Olson finished second in the triple jump (40-1.25) for the Rockets.
Both Spencer and Marshfield Columbus Catholic will compete in the WIAA Division 3 regionals at Stratford on Monday.
