OWEN – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic baseball team had its three-game winning streak snapped, falling 9-7 to Owen-Withee in the teams’ regular-season and Cloverbelt Conference East Division finale on Monday.
Columbus led 7-6 after 5½ innings before the Blackhawks rallied for three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to pull off the victory.
Mike Iwanski had three strikeouts and three walks in suffering the loss for the Dons.
Brandon Nikolai, Kienan McIntee and Alex Larson each had two hits for Columbus, which finishes the regular season with an 8-12 record and an 8-10 mark in the Cloverbelt East. Owen-Withee ends up 10-10 and 8-10 in conference.
The Dons open WIAA postseason action Friday with a Division 4 regional quarterfinal at Prentice.
