MARSHFIELD – Brad Stroik struck out nine in eight innings and Kyle McHugh drove in three runs to lead the Marshfield Chaparrals baseball team to a 6-1 win over the Wausau Riverhawks on Wednesday night at Jack Hackman Field.
The Chaparrals improve to 11-5 this season after beating Wausau for the second time this week.
Stroik did not walk a batter and allowed just five hits and one unearned run in eight innings to earn the win for Marshfield. Cain Trunkel pitched a scoreless ninth inning.
Eric Pritzl had two hits and Sam Arnott had a double and scored for the Chaps.
Marshfield returns to action with a road game at Plover on Friday, then is off until July 11 when it hosts Eau Claire.
