ABBOTSFORD – The Marshfield Chaparrals pounded out 21 hits and ripped the Abbotsford Merchants 18-1 in an amateur baseball game Thursday at Red Arrow Field.
Marshfield scored five times in the first innigns, four more in the second and two in the third to take a commanding 11-0 lead after three innings.
Eric Pritzl and Dylan McHugh each had three hits and three RBIs, Chuck Brehm had two doubles, a single and scored four times, and Bobby Gregorich added a triple, a single and three RBIs for the Chaps (14-5).
Ryan Williams pitched four shutout innings to earn the win for Marshfield.
Marshfield returns to action Friday at home against Menomonie.
