ATHENS – Jesse Adams hit four 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 15 points in Stratford’s 60-37 victory over Athens in a Marawood Conference North-South crossover game Monday at Athens High School.
Chris Newburry added 12 points and nine rebounds, and Derek Austin had six points and eight rebounds for the Tigers, who wrap up their regular season 12-10 after winning the fifth-place crossover game.
Stratford used a 17-6 run in the second quarter to open up a 24-12 lead, then put the game away by outscoring the Bluejays (4-17) 21-8 in the fourth quarter.
Matt Griffith hit 5 of 6 free throws and added 11 points for Stratford. The Tigers host Marawood-rival Edgar (12-10) in a WIAA Division 3 regional quarterfinal Tuesday at Stratford High School.
