NORMAL, Ill. – Cassandra Marschall, a 2010 Marshfield High School graduate, is a junior on the Bradley University women’s golf team.
Marschall shot a 79 on Sunday at the Illinois St. Redbird Invitational to finish tied for 25th. This was the opening meet of the fall season for Bradley.
Marschall had a 74 in the first round and 82 in the second round to finish with a three-day total of 235, which was third on the Bradley team. Teammates Danielle Lemek and Thea Hedemann tied for sixth with a 229.
Marschall, who transferred to Bradley from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay following her freshman season in 2010-11, played a school-season record 32 rounds in 2011-12. She had a season-best finish of fifth at the Indiana Invitational, carding a season-best round of 74. She had a 82.2 stroke average, which was fourth for the Braves, and shot 10 rounds in the 70s during the course of the season.
Bradley finished fifth in the team standings, five shots behind Akron and 10 shots ahead of seventh-place Southern Illinois.
Bradley continues its fall season Sept. 17-18 at the Louisville Cardinal Cup.
