RICE LAKE – The University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County volleyball team won three close games and opened its season with a 3-0 sweep of UW-Barron County on Monday night.
Kimberly Masephol led the Marauders with 64 assists. Lindsay Gotz had seven kills and three aces, and Aubrie Bissonette added six kills for UW-Marshfield.
“We have come together with a purpose and dedication to one another,” Marauders coach Brittany Lueth said. “Our team motto: ‘We Practice Like We Play’ – putting effort into every practice, drill and match! I’m proud to coach a wonderful group of athletes this season.”
UW-Marshfield/Wood County is back in action Friday at UW-Marathon County in Wausau.
