EAU CLAIRE – The Marshfield girls golf team bounced back from a fourth-place finish at Stevens Point on Tuesday to take second place at the fifth leg of the Clover Valley Golf League Tournament on Thursday at Eau Clair Golf and Country Club.
The Tigers posted a score of 203, which was eight strokes better than third place Eau Clarie Regis and 13 ahead of Stevens Point. Osseo-Fairchild rolled to its fifth straight win in the series, shooting a 170.
Molly Field tied Kelsey Higley of Osseo-Fairchild for meet medalist honors, shooting a 43 in the nine-hole event.
Jordan Fitzgerald tied for eighth with a 52 for the Tigers.
The sixth leg of the tournament is Tuesday at Neillsville and Marshfield hosts the seventh and final leg Sept. 20 at Marshfield Country Club.
