AUBURNDALE – Auburndale, seeded No. 3 in its sectional, lived up to its seeding with a dominating 3-0 sweep of No. 14 Loyal/Granton in a WIAA Division 3 regional quarterfinal volleyball match Tuesday night at Auburndale High School.
The Apaches won 25-12, 25-8, 25-3, to move on to Thursday’s Division 3 regional semifinal against Stevens Point Pacelli.
Pacelli, seeded sixth, knocked off No. 11 Colby 25-13, 25-14, 25-16, on Tuesday in a regional quarterfinal.
Auburndale hosts Pacelli at 7 p.m. Thursday. The winner moves on to a regional final on Saturday night against the winner of the match between No. 2 Marathon and No. 7 Neillsville. The match will be played at the higher seeded team. The winner of the regional final moves on to a sectional semifinal on Oct. 25 at Auburndale.
