HUDSON – The Marshfield girls swim team finished 12th at the WIAA Division 1 sectional on Saturday and did not have an individual or relay team qualify for the state meet.
Emma Holbrook had Marshfield’s top finish, taking third in the 100 backstroke in 1:00.60. Her time was just 0.48 of a second off the final qualifying time for the 2012 WIAA State Girls Swimming Championships, which will be held Saturday, Nov. 10, at the UW Natatorium in Madison.
Megan Marotz had a pair of fifth-place finishes for the Tigers. Marotz finished fifth in the 50 freestyle in 25.56 seconds and took fifth in the 100 freestyle in 55.81 seconds.
Eau Claire Memorial won the team sectional title with 368 points, 61 ahead of Hudson. Marshfield finished with 94 points.
