Marshfield’s Brandon Heeg, Stratford’s Jay Wussow finish season on UW-La Crosse football team

LA CROSSE – Marshfield High School graduate Brandon Heeg and Stratford High School grad Jay Wussow wrapped up their season as members of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse football team on Saturday when the Eagles lost 24-0 to UW-Whitewater.

Heeg, a sophomore defensive lineman, had 22 tackles, including eight for loss, four sacks and recovered two fumbles for La Crosse. Heeg recorded two of his sacks against UW-Oshkosh on Oct. 27 and recovered both fumbles in the season opener against North Central (Ill.) on Sept. 1.

Wussow, a junior linebacker, had 22 tackles, including 3½ for loss, and he recorded a half-sack.

La Crosse finished the season with a 4-6 record and a 3-4 mark in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
