SPENCER – Spencer had three pins and two wins by forfeit to defeat Osseo-Fairchild/Augusta/Altoona 38-25 in its wrestling season and Cloverbelt Conference opener Tuesday night at Spencer High School.
Zach Schneider (170 pounds), Lance Neumann (182) and Rudy Nieman (145) won by pin for the Rockets. Spencer also got an 13-3 major decision win from Nate Neumann at 138 and a 12-1 major decision victory by Trevor Ackman at 152.
Kyle Andreae (285) and Lindsey Vaughan (126) won by forfeit for the Rockets.
“We looked good tonight – still some things to improve on,” Spencer coach Jake Zschernitz said. “It’s tough to wrestle a Tuesday dual after the Thanksgiving holiday. Overall I’m happy with their performance.”
