Spencer girls basketball routs Rib Lake

SPENCER – The Spencer girls basketball team won its second straight game, blasting Rib Lake 48-28 in a nonconference game Tuesday night at Spencer High School.

Tara Matter scored 22 points and snagged 13 rebounds for the Rockets (2-1). Macie Weber added 10 points and four steals and Abby Varsho had 11 rebounds for Spencer.

Spencer jumped out to an 8-2 lead after the first quarter and put the game away with a 14-2 advantage in the third quarter.

Morgan Thums led Rib Lake (0-3) with nine points. The Redmen made just nine field goals in the game and went 10 of 18 on free throws.

Spencer hosts Loyal in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game on Thursday.
