Edgar uses five pins to beat Stratford wrestling

EDGAR – Edgar won five matches by pin and handed the Stratford wrestling team its first Marawood Conference loss of the season, with a 42-27 victory in a dual meet Thursday night at Edgar High School.

Edgar improves to 2-0 in the Marawood, while Stratford falls to 2-1.

Connor Handrick (145), Wylie Frahm (152), Anthony Lemanski (160) and Matt Nowak (170) won by pin in four consecutive matches to help Edgar build a 27-3 lead.

Stratford’s Anthony Christmas (106) won by pin and Phil Sersch (138), Kellen Bornbach (182) and Dondrick Tackes (220) won by decision.

Stratford will compete at the Weyauwega-Fremont Tournament on Saturday.
