Stratford boys basketball beats Northland Lutheran for first Marawood South win

STRATFORD – Travis Urlaub scored 22 points, leading four Stratford players in doubles figures, as the Tigers beat Northland Lutheran 74-59 in a Marawood Conference South Division boys basketball game Friday night at Stratford High School.

Urlaub made 7 of 11 shots from the field and 7 of 9 from the free-throw line to lead the Tigers.

Greg Belter added 16 points, Andrew Marcis had 14 points and six rebounds, and Nolan Bargender scored 11 points and also had six rebounds for Stratford.

The Tigers led 29-24 at halftime and continued to build on their lead, scoring 45 second-half points.

Stratford (4-2, 1-2 Marawood South) plays at Edgar on Tuesday.
