AUBURNDALE – Kayla Nikolay scored 11 points to lead the Auburndale girls basketball team to a 41-29 victory over Chequamegon in a Marawood Conference North-South third-place crossover game Monday night at Auburndale High School.
Kelly Tomfohrde scored six of her eight points in the second half for the Apaches, who finish the regular season at 16-6 after having won 12 of their last 14 games and nine of their last 10.
Auburndale held an opponent under 30 points for the ninth time this season.
Auburndale takes its hot streak into next week’s WIAA playoffs with a Division 3 regional quarterfinal at home against Stevens Point Pacelli on Tuesday, March 9.
Erica Withey scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Chequamegon (13-9).
