ALMOND – Hannah Schmitt poured in 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Stratford girls basketball team to a 60-24 win over Manawa in the first round of the Almond-Bancroft Girls Basketball Tournament on Thursday at Almond-Bancroft High School.
Stratford (5-3) will play either Wisconsin Valley Lutheran or Almond-Bancroft in the tournament championship game at 6:15 p.m. Friday. The score of that game was not provided.
Stratford cruised out to a 20-8 lead after the first quarter and outscored Manawa 26-10 in the middle two quarters to pull away.
Amanda Rindfleisch, Casey Kohlbeck and Carrie Stroetz each added eight points in the win for the Tigers.
