ALMOND – The Stratford girls basketball team outscored Almond-Bancroft 20-0 in the first quarter and rolled to a 60-18 win in the championship of the Almond-Bancroft Girls Basketball Tournament on Friday night.
Carrie Stroetz scored 18 points and Hannah Schmitt had 11 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Tigers, who improve to 6-3.
Stroetz made 8 of 12 shots from the field and Schmitt was 5 of 6 from the free-throw line.
After the big first quarter, Stratford continued to pour it on, outscoring A-B 29-7 in the middle two quarters.
Stratford is back in action at Auburndale on Jan. 4.
