STRATFORD – Blake Anderson drilled four 3-pointers and scored a game-high 15 points to lead the Auburndale boys basketball team to its 10th straight win to start the season – a 55-44 victory over Stratford on Friday night at Stratford High School.
Isaac Castellano added 11 points and eight assists, Austin Hawkins had 12 points and seven rebounds, and Zach Staats scored 10 points for the Apaches (10-0, 7-0 Marawood Conference South Division).
Auburndale used a 19-8 third-quarter run to pull ahead 40-19 before the Tigers scored 25 points in the fourth quarter to narrow the gap.
Travis Urlaub had 14 points and Greg Belter added 12 for Stratford (7-4, 3-4 Marawood South).
Stratford was 8 of 20 from 3-point range, but made just 5 of 23 on 2-pointers, shooting only 30 percent overall.
Auburndale hosts Loyal in a nonconference game on Tuesday and Stratford is back in action next Thursday at home against Athens.
