MARSHFIELD – After falling behind early, the Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys basketball team rallied for a 53-47 win over Owen-Withee in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Friday night at Columbus Catholic High School.
The Dons earn a split in the season series with Owen-Withee and improve to 9-4 overall and 6-4 in the Cloverbelt East. Owen-Withee drops to 6-7 and 6-4 in the conference, tied with Columbus for fourth place.
Jared Fleischmann scored 19 points, Alex Larson added 12 and Alex Baierl had 10 for the Dons.
Owen-Withee led 15-9 after the first quarter and 19-17 at halftime before the Dons outscored the Blackhawks 21-13 in the third quarter to pull ahead.
Albert Goerlitz had 19 points to top the Blackhawks.
Columbus returns to action Thursday at home against Spencer.
