AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale girls basketball team kept pace near the top of the Marawood Conference South Division standings with a dominating 46-13 win over Northland Lutheran on Monday night at Auburndale High School.
Auburndale led 10-2 after the first quarter and put the game away with a 16-0 third quarter to improve to 6-4 overall and 5-1 in the conference, one-half game behind Wisconsin Rapids Assumption. Northland Lutheran falls to 4-5 and 1-4 in the Marawood South.
The Apaches held Northland Lutheran to just 4 of 32 shooting from the field.
Ten Auburndale players scored in the game, led by Nicole Nikolay and Shannon Yahnke who each had eight points. Mikayla Jankowski and Emma Steines each added six points.
The Apaches host Prentice in a nonconference game on Friday.
