Auburndale boys basketball improves to 11-0 with big win over Loyal

AUBURNDALE – Auburndale cruised out to a double-digit lead in the first quarter and poured it on from there, routing Loyal 71-33 in a nonconference boys basketball game Tuesday night at Auburndale High School.

Austin Hawkins scored 19 points and Blake Anderson had 14 points and seven rebounds to the Apaches, who improve to 11-0 on the season.

Mason Froeba had 12 of his 14 points in the first half for Loyal (4-8).

The Apaches were 28 of 55 from the field and 12 of 16 on free throws on their way to the big win.

Auburndale hosts Prentice in another nonconference game on Friday.
