STRATFORD – Four Stratford players scored in double figures and the Tigers came back from a six-point deficit in the fourth quarter to edge Athens 61-59 in a nonconference boys basketball game Thursday night at Stratford High School.
Athens led 42-36 entering the fourth quarter before Stratford used a 25-17 advantage to pull out the tight win and improve to 8-4 on the season. Athens falls to 8-6.
Travis Urlaub scored 14 points, Jake Reif and Nolan Bargender each added 13, and Greg Belter had 10 for Stratford.
Shane Coker scored 16 points on 8 of 9 shooting for the Bluejays.
Stratford returns to action Tuesday with a Marawood Conference South Division game at Pittsville.
