D.C. Everest scores final four goals in 6-2 win over Marshfield boys hockey

MARSHFIELD – D.C. Everest scored the final four goals of the game and pulled out a 6-2 win over Marshfield in Wisconsin Valley Conference boys hockey action Thursday night at the Marshfield Youth Ice and Recreation Arena.

The Tigers fall to 0-5 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference with the loss and 5-11 overall. D.C. Everest improves to 11-5 and 5-2 in the WVC.

Cole Irish scored 2:22 into the game to give the Tigers the early lead only to see Chris Babiarz score the first of his three goals just 49 seconds later to tie the game. Chris Sackmann scored in the final 2 minutes of the period for the Evergreens.

After J.T. Twardowski tied it early in the second for Marshfield, Babiarz scored twice in 1:18 span to put Everest back in control.

The Evergreens added two goals in the third to ice the win.

Brad Krueger had 17 saves in the loss for Marshfield.

The Tigers play again next Thursday at Wisconsin Rapids.
