MARSHFIELD – The University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County men’s basketball team overcame a slight halftime deficit to defeat UW-Barron County 70-66 in a Wisconsin Collegiate Conference game Wednesday night at the Marauder Gym.
Marshfield trailed 36-33 at halftime before coming back for the victory.
Cain Trunkel scored 27 points, Tyler Empey added 12 and Jesse Bejcek had 10 for the Marauders, who improve to 11-2 overall and 5-1 in the WCC.
The 43rd Annual Marauder Classic will be held Friday and Saturday at UW-Marshfield/Wood County.
On Friday, Gogebic Community College takes on UW-Fond du Lac at 6 p.m., with the Marauders playing Fox Valley Tech at 8 p.m.
The consolation game starts at noon on Saturday, with the championship game at 2 p.m.
