Auburndale boys basketball shreds Prentice, improves to 12-0

AUBURNDALE – Auburndale jumped on Prentice early, outscoring the Buccaneers 24-8 in the first quarter, and rolled to a 67-39 nonconference win in boys basketball action Friday night at Auburndale High School.

Austin Hawkins poured in 29 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Auburndale, which remains unbeaten this season at 12-0.

Hawkins made 11 of 15 shots from the field and 7 of 11 at the free-throw line for the Apaches.

Blake Anderson added 14 points, Ben Bolder had 10 points, and Isaac Castellano scored five points and dished out 10 assists in the win for Auburndale.

Travis Judell had 11 points to lead Prentice (7-4).

Auburndale returns to Marawood Conference South Division action Tuesday at Northland Lutheran.
