SPENCER – Marisa Johnson and Tara Matter each scored 10 points to lead the Spencer girls basketball team to a narrow 31-30 victory over Colby in Cloverbelt Conference East Division action Friday night at Spencer High School.
The Rockets outscored Colby 19-12 in the second half to pull out the win and get back to the .500 mark on the season at 5-5 (3-5 Cloverbelt East). Colby falls to 5-3, 4-3 in the conference.
Colby led 18-12 at the half before Spencer made the comeback.
Matter added eight rebounds and Johnson had six boards for the Rockets.
Taylor Lynn had 10 points to lead Colby.
Spencer has a nonconference game at Phillips on Monday, then hosts Marshfield Columbus Catholic in a Cloverbelt East game next Thursday.
