MARSHFIELD – The University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County men’s basketball team dropped an 84-83 decision to Gogebic Community College in the championship game of the Marauder Classic on Saturday at the Marauder Gym.
The Marauders, who beat Fox Valley Tech in overtime in a semifinal game on Friday night, lost in OT in the championship to fall to 12-3 this season.
Cain Trunkel had 23 points, Jesse Bejcek had 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Matt Gruenwald had 14 points for the Marauders.
Fox Valley Tech edged UW-Fond du Lac 73-69 in overtime in the consolation game.
UW-Marshfield/Wood County is back in action Wednesday at UW-Fox Valley in Menasha.
