Marshfield girls basketball whips Wisconsin Rapids

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Marshfield girls basketball team improved to 5-2 in its last seven games with a convincing 68-51 win over Wisconsin Rapids in a Wisconsin Valley Conference matchup Tuesday night at Lincoln High School.

The Tigers improve to 7-5 overall and 2-3 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference with the victory. Wisconsin Rapids is now 3-9 and 1-5 in the conference.

Caitlin Michaelis hit three 3-pointers and scored a team-high 19 points for Marshfield. Darian Molter added 12 points and four assists, and Ellie Kummer had 10 points and five rebounds for the Tigers.

Marshfield made 7 of 18 shots from 3-point range, while hold the Raiders to just two 3’s and 20 turnovers. Overall, Marshfield had 23 more shots than Rapids, and made eight more.

Marshfield hosts Merrill on Friday.
