WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Marshfield boys basketball team won its second straight game, outlasting Wisconsin Rapids 46-34 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference contest Tuesday night at Lincoln High School.
The Tigers move back over the .500 mark at 7-6 on the season and 4-2 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. Wisconsin Rapids drops to 4-10 and 3-3 in the Valley.
Marshfield was shutout in the second quarter and trailed 16-14 at the half before a big second-half surge secured the victory.
Luke Zuiker made 9 of 10 shots from the free throw line and scored a team-high 17 points for Marshfield. Matt Oestreich added a season-high 11 points.
Marshfield plays at Merrill on Friday. That game will be broadcast on WDLB-AM 1450 and wdlbwosq.com starting with pregame at 7:15 p.m.
