Stratford boys basketball comes up short at Pittsville

PITTSVILLE – Brad Wesely scored 18 points to lead Pittsville to a 50-42 win over Stratford in a Marawood Conference South Division boys basketball game Tuesday night at Pittsville High School.

Pittsville outscored the Tigers 15-9 in the first quarter and 14-10 in the fourth to pull out the win.

Pittsville improves to 9-6 overall and 6-2 in the Marawood South, remaining two games behind first-place Auburndale. Stratford drops to 8-5 and 3-5 in the conference.

Andrew Marcis, Travis Urlaub and Greg Belter each scored nine points for Stratford, which made just 12 of 24 free throws in the loss.

Stratford hosts Marathon on Friday.
