UW-Marshfield/Wood County women’s basketball wins ninth straight, men lose at UW-Fox Valley

MENASHA – The University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County women’s basketball team won its ninth straight game, blowing past UW-Fox Valley 70-54 on Wednesday night at UW-Fox Valley.

Five Marauders scored in double figures, led by Addi Vold, who had 16 points. Kaitlynn Mefferd had 14 points and 12 rebounds, Brynn Salava scored 12 points and snagged 11 rebounds, Corrine Meacham and McKenzie Trunkel each scored 11 points, and Heather Adrian pulled down 12 rebounds for UW-Marshfield/Wood County in a balanced attack.

The Marauders improve to 13-2 overall and 11-1 in the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference.

UW=Fox Valley downed the Marshfield men’s team 80-66.

Zach Zettler scored 16 points for the Marauders, who fall to 12-4 overall.

UW-Marshfield hosts UW-Fond du Lac for a women’s-men’s doubleheader on Saturday. The women’s game starts at 1 p.m., with the men’s game to follow at 3 p.m.
