Athens uses seven forfeits to top Auburndale wrestling

AUBURNDALE – Athens won seven matches by forfeit and that was more than enough as it defeated Auburndale 48-25 in a Marawood Conference wrestling dual Thursday night at Auburndale High School.

Auburndale won four of the five matches that were wrestled, two by pin.

Paul Willfahrt (132 pounds) and Bobby Wiskerchen (138) had pins for the Apaches, Willfahrt’s coming in just 47 seconds.

Lane Schuld won a major decision 10-0 at 120 pounds and Kaleb Bolder earned at 6-4 win at 220 for Auburndale’s other two wins.

Auburndale’s final Marawood dual match is next Thursday at Stratford.
